At the August 6, 2003 Advisory
Committee meeting of the Northwest Butler Transportation Study,
a recap of the July public meeting and public input was presented.
Based on that input, the committee considered several variations
or modifications to the alternative long range transportation
plans presented at the July public meeting. As a result of this
discussion, the Advisory Committee directed the project team
to analyze one additional alternative plan, designated as Alternative
5C, which is a hybrid of the 1A and 3B plans.
Analysis findings will be prepared
and provided to the Committee for comparison of 5C with 1A, 3B,
and the No-Build option prior to the next Advisory Committee
meeting, scheduled for September 10, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at the
Hanover Township Community Center. The selection of a preferred
alternative will conclude the planning study. The results of
the study will then be forwarded to the OKI Board of Trustees
for their consideration for inclusion in the OKI 2030 Regional
Transportation Plan. Inclusion in the plan is required to make
the recommendations eligible (though not guaranteed) for additional
federal funding for the more detailed preliminary engineering
/ environmental impact studies. This would occur only if funds
can be acquired. The source of these funds could be federal,
state, local, or private.
The following three exhibits
depict the alternatives the Committee is considering. You will need Adobe Acrobat
