Public Workshop
Close to 200 people attended
the Public Open House Workshop for the Northwest Butler Transportation
Study held on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Maud Marshall Elementary
School. The purpose of the workshop was to solicit public comment
and input, specifically on the project goals and alternative
transportation solutions under consideration.
If you would like to make comments,
please do so as soon as possible, ideally by April 11th, so that
your input can be incorporated into this study. You can email
your comments to rkoehler@oki.org.
What happens next?
Over the next couple of months,
the Advisory Committee will further evaluate these alternatives
in terms of potential benefit, cost and impact and how well each
fits with the project goals. The Advisory Committee will prepare
a recommended long range, strategic plan based on this evaluation
and your input. This plan will include a combination of improvements
selected from what is presented here and any other ideas that
come from this workshop and the continued study.
The study schedule targets an
early summer date (June 2003) for another Public Workshop to
review the draft recommended plan. From there, the final recommended
plan will be presented to OKI for incorporation into the Regional Long
Range Plan.
