Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that improvements to the intersection at
Ohio 128 and Krause Lane are slated to begin next week. Plans
call for the Ross Township intersection to be realigned so that
Krause Lane and Rossgate Court line up with each other at Ohio
128.
"This project
is a fine example of public-private partnering," said Wilkens.
"Several local businesses in the area recognized the need
to make this intersection safer and they, along with the Ross
Township Trustees, approached us about providing design plans.
In a spirit of cooperation, we donated the engineering and they
will handle construction. At a time when roadbuilding funds are
extremely tight, this is a good arrangement for the County. It
benefits the taxpayers, helps the local businesses, and results
in a safer intersection for motorists."
Watson Gravel, John
R. Jurgensen Company, and Martin Marietta Aggregates are splitting
the $128,000 construction cost. John R. Jurgensen Company will
act as the contractor on the job which will take approximately
two weeks to complete. All roads will remain open during construction.
