Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that several roads were closed as a result
of heavy rains and flash flooding this past weekend. BCEO crews
were mobilized to clear mud, gravel, and debris from roads and
to place high water signs in numerous locations. Crews have also
been busy clearing culverts and bridge piers clogged by tree
limbs and debris.
The following roads
remain closed as of this morning:
- Bauer Road in Milford Township is closed
between Hamilton Eaton Road and State Road due to a culvert washout.
The road will remain closed indefinitely while BCEO engineers
assess the damage and evaluate necessary repairs.

- Hamilton Eaton
Road in
Milford Township is closed between State Road and Somerville
Road due to flooding from nearby Seven Mile Creek. BCEO crews
expect to reopen the road today (June 16) after mud and debris
are cleaned up.

- Harris Road in Milford Township is closed between
Ohio 177 and U.S. 127 due to a culvert washout. The road will
remain closed indefinitely while BCEO engineers assess the damage
and evaluate necessary repairs.

- Nichols Road in Hanover Township is closed 1.0 mile
east of U.S. 27 and 0.3 mile west of Lanes Mill Road due to a
culvert washout. The Hanover Township Maintenance Department
expects to reopen the road by July 7, 2003.
