Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that a major bridge replacement on Indian
Creek Road is slated to begin next Monday. Located just south
of Imhoff Road in Reily Township, Indian Creek Road Bridge #01.360
is a narrow steel pony truss built in 1967 spanning Indian Creek.
It will be replaced with a new single span post-tensioned bulb-T
structure.
This is one of eight
bridge replacements for the BCEO this year and is part of the
County Engineer's ongoing and aggressive bridge safety program.
"Repairing or replacing structurally deficient bridges has
been a top priority of this office for a long time," Wilkens
emphasized. "While Indian Creek Road may not be one of the
more heavily traveled roads in Butler County, the safety of all
motorists everywhere is of paramount importance whether the area
is rural, urban, or suburban."
The construction contract
for the project was awarded to Mainline Road and Bridge Construction,
Inc. of Beavercreek, Ohio which submitted a low bid of $821,712.
State OPWC funds will be utilized to pay for 78 percent of the
construction cost. The remaining local match amount consists
of local BCEO money.

and Maintenance of Traffic
Indian Creek Road in
Reily Township will close for this bridge replacement beginning
