Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that 2008 is gearing up to be another busy
year for road construction with numerous road and bridge closures,
particularly in Liberty and West Chester Townships. The Butler
County Engineer's Office in conjunction with Liberty and West
Chester Townships and the Butler County TID will administer over
$50 million worth of projects this year in southeast Butler County
alone.
Additionally, the Ohio
Department of Transportation will begin a $98 million, three-year
project to widen 11 miles of Interstate 75 from Cincinnati Dayton
Road to just south of Ohio 122. This will necessitate the closing
of four bridge overpasses in Butler County and two in Warren
County for several months during 2008.
Public Information
Meetings
In an effort to communicate
critical road construction information one on one to the traveling
public, the Butler County Engineer's Office in cooperation with
the West Chester Chamber Alliance, Liberty Township, West Chester
Township, the Butler County TID, and the Ohio Department of Transportation,
is sponsoring a series of public meetings. These meetings will
be a casual opportunity to provide direct construction updates
to local property owners, businesses, and motorists so that any
concerns can be immediately addressed.
Meetings will be held
monthly on the fourth Friday of each month through September.
The first meeting is scheduled for March 28. All meetings start
at 8:00 a.m. and are being held at the VOA MetroPark Ronald Reagan
Lodge in West Chester Township. Attendees can enter the park
via VOA Park Drive off of Cox Road. Auto park passes are not
required.
