Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that Somerville Road in Oxford Township
will close for a bridge replacement beginning September 13. Located
just west of Oxford Milford Road and spanning Harker's Run, the
current bridge is a 52-foot steel pony truss built in 1956. The
Engineer's Office plans to replace the old bridge with a new,
safer pre-cast concrete arch structure.
A construction contract
for the project was awarded to WG Stang, LLC of Hamilton which
submitted a low bid of $427,827. Funding will consist of State
OPWC grant money and local Butler County funds.
All work is scheduled
for completion by late November 2010, weather permitting.
