Engineering firms which
have been pre-qualified with the Butler County Engineer's Office
which are interested in being considered for contract to provide
the required services should reply with a letter of interest
(one copy) no later than 4:30 p.m. on February 6, 2012. Letters
received after this time and date will not be considered. Letters
should be submitted to Gregory J. Wilkens, P.E., P.S., Butler
County Engineer, Attn: Ms. Annette Peters, 1921 Fairgrove Avenue,
Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
As required by Ohio
Revised Code 153.65-71, the responding firms will be evaluated
and ranked in order of their qualifications. Letters of interest
will be evaluated based on the following criteria: background
and experience on similar projects, management and team credentials,
experience of current professional staff, proximity to project
site, equipment and facilities, availability to meet schedule,
past performance for the County Engineer (this includes a check
for quality, ability to meet deadlines and schedules, ability
to control costs and meet budget, and communication and cooperation).
The length of the submittal shall not exceed ten pages (not including
resumes). A project approach is not necessary for this submittal.
Following the submittal
evaluations, the Butler County Engineer's Office will post on
this web site the top three ranked firms and will enter into
contract negotiations with the most highly qualified firm.
During the advertisement
period, there will be no formal or informal meetings with the
Butler County Engineer's Office regarding these projects. Any
specific questions regarding the projects can be directed via
email to the project manager.

PROJECT 1: Bonham
Road Bridge #00.388 - Bridge Replacement
Location: Oxford Township, Butler County,
Ohio
Description: The project includes the replacement
of an existing truss bridge on Bonham Road over Four Mile Creek
just northeast of the City of Oxford. (2011
Bridge Inspection Report.)

PROJECT 2: Tylersville
Road Improvement - I-75 to Cox Road
Location: West Chester Township, Butler
County, Ohio
Description: This project will include surveying
and design (no environmental). The project will be split into
two phases.
Phase 1:
Adding an additional thru eastbound lane from the I-75 northbound
off-ramp to Cox Road. The intersection of Kingsgate Way/Dudley
Drive and Tylersville Road will also be improved including upgrades
to the signal with mast arms (geotechnical will be needed).
Phase 2:
Adding an additional thru westbound lane from the Cox Road to
the I-75 northbound on-ramp. Included with this phase will be
improvements to the Tylersville Road interchange as specified
in the Interchange Modification Study that is currently being
developed internally by the Butler County Engineer's Office.

Phase 2:
The BCEO has started developing the Interchange Modification
Study for this phase. After the IMS is complete, the schedule
for Phase 2 will then be determined.
