Road Closing Notification
to Local Residents and Businesses
March 18, 2008

Indian Creek Road - Reily Township

Note: As a courtesy to local motorists and in the interest of construction site safety, this notice is delivered on BCEO letterhead to all residents and businesses in and near the project area.

Indian Creek Road is tentatively scheduled to close between Imhoff Road and King Road for three culvert replacements beginning Monday, March 24, 2008. Work on these projects is expected to take about three weeks to complete, weather permitting.

The first two culverts are located approximately 800 feet north of Imhoff Road and 1.1 miles south of King Road. Work on these culverts is tentatively scheduled for completion around April 1, 2008, at which time crews will move to the third culvert which is located 0.9 mile north of Imhoff and 0.5 mile south of King Road. Work on the third culvert is expected to be completed with the road fully reopening the week of April 7, 2008.

While the first two culverts are under construction, local access will be from the north since the nearby bridge over Indian Creek is still closed for construction. Once crews begin work on the third culvert, local residents south of the culvert will will utilize Indian Creek Road south to Imhoff Road and take Imhoff to Ohio 732. Local residents north of the culvert will utilize Indian Creek Road north to King or Riggs Road.

Emergency personnel, school bus transportation officials, the post office, and the media have been notified of these closings. The information is also posted on our web site at www.bceo.org/roadclosings.html.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

The Project

These projects are necessary to replace aging and deteriorating structures in an effort to prevent potential future structural failure and maintain proper drainage and water flow. All work is being performed by crews from the Butler County Engineer's Office and project funding consists of 100 percent local BCEO funds.

Who To Contact

While the BCEO makes every effort to keep residents and businesses in a project area informed, we strongly encourage you to check the Road Closings page on our web site as the best source for possible date and status changes concerning this closing. If you have specific questions about the project, please contact BCEO Operations Deputy Scott Bressler at the Engineer's Office by phone or email: 785-4128 or bresslers@bceo.org.

Your Safety

The BCEO would like to emphasize the importance of proper safety measures during actual construction. Every precaution will be taken to make the construction sites as safe as possible. However, we do ask that you and your family be aware of the potential hazards associated with work areas such as this. Please advise everyone to keep out of the construction sites as much as possible to reduce the risk of accidents.

Your assistance would also be appreciated in reporting any instances of vandalism, including the removal of lights, signs, or barricades. Such acts of vandalism can seriously jeopardize the safety of motorists and pedestrians in the construction area. Please contact our Office or the Butler County Sheriff at 785-1300 or 424-0469 to report any suspected vandalism.

We realize that construction can create some inconveniences and annoyances, but everything possible will be done to keep these to a minimum during this series of projects. Thanks again for your patience.
