Truck Enforcement Statistics

• During 1991, the truck enforcement program's first year, 487 overweight vehicles were cited for an average overweight of 6.4 tons. 78 of the citations were for more than 10 tons overweight;
• From January 1, 1991 through June 2, 1998, a total of 4,440 citations were issued for a total of 44,275,687 pounds of overweight;
• Overweights for January 1, 1998 through June 2, 1998 totaled 176 for an average of 10,434 pounds per truck;
• Any truck exceeding 8 feet 6 inches wide must have a special hauling permit.
