The Butler County Engineer’s Office utilized the new children’s book Ronda Loves Roundabouts, written by Jonathan French, P.E., of the Maine Department of Transportation, as an educational tool for area elementary students to celebrate National Roundabouts Week, the third week of September. In an effort to increase knowledge and safety for motorists, walkers, and rollers in roundabouts and crosswalks, BCEO Traffic Engineer Matt Loeffler visited thirteen schools in Fairfield, Liberty, and West Chester Townships and read to students or shared about the book on the morning announcements.

So far, the BCEO has donated the entertaining yet informative book to those thirteen school libraries and plans to extend the book tour through October to gift a total of 23 to township elementary schools with a roundabout nearby.
