Cincinnati Dayton Road Bridge Construction begins with Closure of Garver Road (UPDATED)

Traffic Advisories

June 11, 2024

City of Middletown/City of Monroe

UPDATE OCTOBER 10, 2024: Beginning Monday morning, October 14, 2024, the contractor will shift traffic and start the asphalt resurfacing process, which could cause significant delays. On Tuesday, paving will continue, and traffic will be shifted back to its final configuration. Final roadway striping and signage installations will occur for the rest of the week, resulting in project completion on Friday, October 18. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route to avoid traffic congestion on Monday and Tuesday.

The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports the start of their Cincinnati Dayton Road Bridge Rehabilitation project, located approximately 0.5 miles north of Todhunter Road (over Shaker Creek), on Monday, June 17, 2024. Cincinnati Dayton Road/North Main Street traffic will be maintained, leaving one northbound lane and one southbound lane open throughout the four-month construction period.

However, the project requires the adjacent section of Garver Road, just east of the project, to be closed to all through traffic except emergency vehicles for the first phase of construction, which is expected to last about 75 days. Motorists will use Cincinnati Dayton Road/North Main Street and S.R. 63 as a detour to access North Garver Road.

The $2.95 million bridge rehabilitation project awarded to Brumbaugh Construction, Inc. and funded with state and BCEO funds will improve the structure’s stability and the safety of the traveling public. Check the BCEO PROJECTS MAP, as well as Facebook and Twitter @bceonews, for possible date and status changes concerning this and other closures/advisories.
