The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports that construction of a single-lane roundabout and the realignment of West Chester Road with Socialville Foster Road on Butler Warren Road will begin on Monday, April 5, 2021. Curb and gutter, closed storm sewer drainage, traffic control, and lighting will also be included in this joint intersection improvement with the Warren County Engineer’s Office.

Construction will occur in two phases, and traffic will be maintained with no anticipated closures during the first phase. Phase two is expected to begin in July with a full closure until completion of the project, approximately three weeks. Detours will be clearly posted in advance of the closures, and residential access within the construction limits will be maintained.

The project, funded with Federal and State funds, will be performed by Ford Development Corporation, which submitted a low bid of $1,489,099. With a tentative completion date of July 31, 2021, the new roundabout will improve overall safety at the intersection in time for school to start in August.
