UPDATE NOVEMBER 5, 2021: SCOTT ROAD IS OPEN; HOWEVER, FINISHING WORK WILL CONTINUE FOR A WEEK OR SO.

The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports that construction to replace the bridge over Darrs Run on Scott Road is set to begin on Monday, April 12, 2021.

The aging bridge sustained emergency repairs in 2019 to extend its life until the planned replacement in 2021. However, in July 2020, the structure’s excessive deterioration required an emergency closure for Butler county motorists’ safety that is still in effect until the bridge replacement is complete. Scott Road is expected to reopened in fall 2021.

The detour remains the same and is as follows: Eastbound Scott Road traffic will detour north on S.R. 177, east on S.R. 73, and south on Huston Road. Westbound traffic will reverse this route.
