UPDATE JULY 11, 2022: The Hamilton Mason Road and Mauds Hughes Road intersection will NOT close Tuesday, July 12. The contractor has postponed construction of the intersection improvement project until MONDAY, JULY 18, 2022.
The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports the closure of the Hamilton Mason Road and Mauds Hughes Road intersection beginning Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Eagle Bridge Company, out of Sidney, Ohio, was awarded the construction contract for Phase 2 of the Hamilton Mason Corridor Improvement project with the lowest bid of $2,012,838. Funded federally and by the BCEO and the Butler County Water & Sewer Department, the project involves constructing a new traffic signal with a coordinated signal placed at the narrow railroad underpass just east of the project, adding left-turn lanes at the intersection, and realigning the intersection.
Both roads will be closed to all through traffic from S.R. 747 to Cincinnati Dayton Road with local access and are tentatively scheduled to reopen by November 1, 2022, barring weather and material delivery delays.
Hamilton Mason Road Detour: Eastbound Hamilton Mason Road traffic will detour south on S.R. 747, east on Tylersville Road, and north on Cincinnati Dayton Road. Westbound traffic will reverse this route.
Mauds Hughes Road Detour: Northbound Mauds Hughes Road traffic will detour northeast on Cincinnati Dayton Road and west on Princeton Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
