The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports that Princeton Road will close at the intersection of Mauds Hughes Road (south leg) and approximately 500 feet east of Gregory Creek for intersection and bridge improvement projects beginning Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Motorists may see utility work with flaggers prior to the road closure and experience delays on Monday, April 3, and Tuesday, April 4.
With the lowest bid of $4,630,394, Rack & Ballauer Excavating Co., Inc. will simultaneously perform the roundabout installation and the adjacent bridge replacement, scheduled for completion in early November 2023. Federal, state, and local funds from the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Public Works Commission, BCEO, and Liberty Township financed the two projects, easing congestion and upgrading safety benefits on one of Butler County’s more frequently traveled roadways.
During construction, the intersection of Princeton Road and the south leg of Mauds Hughes Road will be closed. Westbound Princeton Road will be open to the north leg of Mauds Hughes Road, and southbound Mauds Hughes Road from Millikin Road will be open to eastbound Princeton Road.
There will be no through traffic on Princeton Road between Lesourdsville West Chester Road and Yankee Road and on Mauds Hughes Road between Millikin Road and Hamilton Mason Road. However, access will be maintained for residents and other local traffic.
Princeton Road Detour: Eastbound Princeton Road traffic will detour north on Lesourdsville West Chester Road, east on Millikin Road, and south on Yankee Road. Westbound traffic will reverse this route.
Mauds Hughes Road Detour: Northbound Mauds Hughes Road traffic will detour west on Hamilton Mason Road, north on Lesourdsville West Chester Road, and east on Millikin Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
