The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports the EMERGENCY closure of Shurz Road to all through traffic at the bridge approximately 200 feet north of Mill Road and 1.3 miles south of Gratis Jacksonburg Road today until further notice. A recent bridge inspection and load calculations led to the closure, which will remain until temporary repairs can be determined. This bridge is currently scheduled to be replaced in 2029.

Detour: Northbound Shurz Road traffic will detour west on S.R. 744, north on S.R. 503, and east on West Elkton Gilford Road to Greenwood Road/Shurz Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
