The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports the emergency closure of Shurz Road to all through traffic at the bridge approximately 200 feet north of Mill Road and 1.3 miles south of Gratis Jacksonburg Road today until further notice. While the BCEO expedited bridge replacement funding originally set for 2029 to 2027, a recent bridge inspection and load calculations led to the imminent closure, which will remain in place until further evaluation determines the course.

Detour: Northbound Shurz Road traffic will detour west on S.R. 744, north on S.R. 503, and east on West Elkton Gilford Road to Greenwood Road/Shurz Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
