The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports the two-day closure of Shurz Road, approximately 200 feet north of Mill Road and 1.3 miles south of Gratis Jacksonburg Road, on Monday, March 23, 2026. The road will be closed to all through traffic as the contractor clears trees in preparation for the upcoming bridge replacement over Elk Creek and is scheduled to reopen on March 24, 2026.
Detour: Northbound Shurz Road traffic will detour west on S.R. 744, north on S.R. 503, and east on West Elkton Gilford Road to Greenwood Road/Shurz Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
