The Butler County Engineer’s Office (BCEO) reports that South Main Street will close 0.42 miles northwest of S.R. 4 and 0.22 miles south of S.R. 73 for a bridge deck rigid overlay project beginning Monday, March 16, 2026. Improvements to the bridge over Dicks Creek, including deck repairs, abutment modifications, curb work, and beam encasement with paint work, will be performed by Complete General Construction Company from Columbus, Ohio. This $500,000 bridge project, funded by the BCEO, is one of three rigid overlays scheduled for 2026 under a $2.2 million contract.

South Main Street will be closed to all through traffic and is tentatively scheduled to reopen by the end of May, weather permitting.

Detour: Northbound South Main Street traffic will detour north on S.R. 4 and exit to west S.R. 73. Southbound traffic will detour east on S.R. 73 and merge onto south S.R. 4.
